Concealed Carry Permit Applications

Please call and schedule an appointment to come in to complete the CCW process. Hours are Monday through Friday from 8 am to 3:30 pm.

Steps to follow before coming into the Sheriff's Office:

It is your responsibility to know the laws for carrying in the states that honor Ohio's Concealed Handgun License.

For a new CCW, please bring to your appointment:

Driver's License
Complete application
Training Certificate
2 inch by 2 inch color head / shoulder picture taken within the last 30 days
Military Members: If you are a Veteran, please bring a copy of your DD-214 showing you were Honorably Discharged, and your CCW will be free of charge.

The state of Ohio waives CCW fees for active-duty military and retired and honorably discharged veterans. The fee waivers are limited per year. If the waivers run out prior to the time of your appointment, you will be required to pay the CCW fee to process your application.

If it is a Shelby County Renewal, please bring the following to your appointment:

Driver's License
Completed application
A color copy of your current driver's license and CCW card
If you are a Veteran, please bring a copy of your DD214 showing you were Honorably Discharged, and your CCW will be free of charge

If it is a renewal from a different county, please bring to your appointment:

Driver's license
Completed application
2 inch by 2 inch color head / shoulder picture taken within the last 30 days
Original training certificate
A color copy of your current driver's license and CCW card
If you are a Veteran, please bring a copy of your DD214 showing you were Honorably Discharged, and your CCW will be free of charge

All CCW can be paid with a credit/debit card or exact cash. Note: there will be a $2 fee automatically assessed by the machine.

You will be notified when the CCW cards are ready for pick-up. If you would like your CCW mailed to you, please bring in a self-addressed stamped envelope.

Shelby County residents can apply in: Shelby, Miami, Logan, Auglaize, Darke, Champaign, or Mercer County.
