The Shelby County Sheriff’s Treatment and Recovery (S.T.A.R. House) is a transitional recovery house designed for formerly incarcerated adult males who are on community corrections supervision and are in recovery from substance use disorders (SUD) and co-occurring mental health disorders. The S.T.A.R. House provides a safe, sober and structured living environment in which residents can work on their recovery from addiction. The S.T.A.R. House staff provides services such as referrals to counseling and treatment, employment assistance, re-entry assistance, supervision, guidance, life skills training and Peer Recovery Support. The S.T.A.R. House seeks to end the cycle of addiction and incarceration, by providing support to those motivated in recovery.
