A cigarette dealer's license is obtained in the County Auditor's office. The fee is $125. To obtain the cigarette license, you must also have a county vendor's license. The license is only valid at one specified location in the county.
A license cannot be transferred in the event that a business has moved or the business has sold. A new license must be purchased under the new location or new owner.
Cigarette licenses are to be displayed near the product being sold for easy inspection. All cigarettes sold in Ohio must be sold in a face-to-face transaction. If cigarettes are being sold in your place of business and you do not have a cigarette license, please contact your local County Auditor's office.
