Comprehensive Plan
After 25 years, Shelby County is updating its Comprehensive Plan! The Comprehensive Plan will serve as a guiding document for future growth and development over the next 10, 15 to 20 years.
The intent of a Comprehensive Plan is to look at where we are now as a community, determine where we want to go, and develop an actionable plan on how to get there. It is a vision for the future.
The Comprehensive Plan update will address the following topics:
- Rural land uses and development, Farmland Preservation and importance of agriculture
- Housing
- Population/Demographics
- Transportation and mobility
- Community facilities and services
- Economic development
- Natural resources, open space and recreation
- Other topics that may be identified through the process
This survey is the start of a planning process expected to last through 2026.
We invite residents, leaders, government officials and community stakeholders to participate in Shelby County’s community planning process. We need your help to guide our collective vision, goals, policies and investment priorities.
