Title: Victim Service Provider


Lauren Sherman began working at Shelby County Victim Services in May 2025 as a Victim Service Provider. Lauren graduated from Versailles High School in 2022. She obtained her Associates Degree from Edison Community College in Applied Human Services. Lauren is currently continuing her education at Wright State University for her Bachelor’s Degree.  

Lauren primarily works in the Shelby County Juvenile Court as a Victim Advocate. Lauren advocates for those who are victimized by juveniles in Shelby County. Lauren has a wide range of duties in Shelby County Victim Services, including, but not limited to:

  • Provide 24-hour crisis response to a secured scene of a crime and/or the hospital emergency room. 
  • Assist law enforcement with making death notifications to next of kin.
  • Notification and explanation of victim’s rights and the court process.
  • Assistance with filing Victim Right’s forms with the court.
  • Provide court advocacy, escort and support crime victims and their families during all stages of the justice process.
  • Assist in filing protection orders.
  • Assistance with completing Victim Impact Statements, including restitution requests. 
  • Assistance filing applications for Crime Victim Compensation. 
  • Assist crime victims at early judicial release requests including parole hearings.
  • Attend child and adult sexual assault forensic interviews.

 

Community & Family

Lauren dedicates much of her time to her family. She has 2 brothers and a younger sister and resides in Yorkshire. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, outdoor activities and shopping.
