About the Auditor
Denny York

Mr. York is currently serving his first term as Shelby County Auditor. He brings to the office over 35 years of experience in the banking and finance industry.

A long time native to Shelby County, Mr. York attended Russia High School. Upon graduation he furthered his education at Miami Jacobs Business College, and pursued numerous professional business classes during his banking career.

He proudly served his country from 1964 –1970 as a Master Sergeant (E-7) in the United States Air Force Reserve.

Mr. York is a current member of the County Auditor’s Association of Ohio. He is a supporter of education, having served on the Shelby County Educational Service Center Board, the Shelby County Business Advisory Council for Schools, and the Board of Education for Russia Schools. He has served his community as past president of the Sidney Rotary Club and past treasurer and board member of the Sidney-Shelby County Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the Shelby County Republican Central Committee and served as a charter board member of the West Ohio Development Council. He also serves as chairman of the finance committee for St. Remy Pastoral Council.

Mr. York has current and past memberships in numerous associations and organizations, including but not limited to: St. Remy Catholic Church, the Shelby County Farm Bureau, the Sidney-Shelby County Chamber of Commerce, the Shelby County Right to Life Society, the Gateway Arts Council, the Knights of Columbus, and the Russia Wellness Foundation.

Denny currently resides in Russia, Ohio with his wife of 39 years Trudy. Together they have five children, Amy Berning, Beth Sherman, Sharon Rowley, Rochelle Hoying, and Jonathan York. They are also the proud grandparents of thirteen wonderful grandchildren.
